Clubs: SG142 (Romania), Steaua (Romania), ICMP (Romania), Houston Stars (USA)

Bogdan started playing handball as a 5th grader in his native Bucharest, Romania. Like most youngsters starting out, he was only 9 years old. Short and quick, Bogdan was a pivot (circle runner) until he turned 16. By then, as a skinny 6'2" player, fresh off departing the club he loves, Steaua, he moved on to play in the 4th division in Bucharest. 18 months later he was off to the States. 20 years later, Bogdan rediscovered handball in Texas, of all places. Soon after joining the club he became obsessed with taking team handball to the next level. Over the past 5 years Bogdan has worn many handball hats. Currently he retains many of the functions he inherited over time. Web editor of the Houston Stars website - Houstonhandball.org -, coach, club director, public relations director, etc. Aditionally, Bogdan was certified as a licensed USATHF team hadball referee, As a two year veteran, he officiated many USATHF tournaments, including the Finals of the 2007 College Nationals and 2006 Tar Heel Invitational in NC, as well as a number of other notable US tournaments such as the 2007 West Point Invitational, 2007 Chicago Invitational and 2005 USATHF Nationals.

Bogdan is currently developing and establishing a statewide grass roots team handball program in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Several years into this project, Bogdan has managed to lay the foundation for a strong team handball program throughout the South East side of Houston, Missouri City and Sugar Land, as well as in Corpus Christi, Beaumont, McAllen, Tyler and other Texas cities. He is the official team handball technical adviser for a number of surrounding school districts (HISD, AISD, FBISD, CISD).

His voluntary, press and TV work, coupled with many years of local community involvement have made him synonymous with Houston Team Handball.

Bogdan was the first (and to date - the only!) LiveSportsVideo webcast play-by-play announcer of the 2007 and 2008 Miami Tournament Invitationals. In April 2009, Bogdan was named the offical American Airlines Arena emcee for the innaugural French Coupe De La Ligue tournament , hosted in Miami, FL.
Bogdan also served as the resident Team Handball Expert during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics's webcast coverage.

You can listen to Bogdan, LIVE, on Tuesday evenings between 19:00 and 21:00 on 1560AM, where he co-hosts THE ORANGE SLICE - a local weekly soccer radio show. Handball is often times a "light" topic of conversation.
