Note: The 9 Performance places are based on standings 1st to 9th from the 2009 World Championships: 8 spots were awarded to Europe and 1 to Asia

European World Championships Qualification Group Play (30 November – 5 December 2010)
Nations not participating in the European Championships will take part in Qualification Group Play. 17 nations were drawn into 4 groups. The winner of each round robin tournament advances to the playoffs in June 2011.

16 Nations participated in the European Championship Finals. The top 3 placed teams, not counting the defending World Champion, Russia, automatically qualified for the 2011 World Championships. The remaining 12 nations will participate in a home and away 2 game playoff in June 2010.

These nations will play a home and away 2 game playoff with the aggregate goals winner qualifying for the World Championships.
