Lewis Howes Not Certified for USA Team Handball Board of Directors Election

(Lewis Howes earlier this year with the USA National Championship Trophy)

On Saturday, 22 August, USA Team Handball released a list of candidates for the General Membership Board of Directors election that is taking place this week. The list included ten names, but noticeably missing was Los Angeles Team Handball Club President and former national team player, Lewis Howes.

Multiple sources have informed me that Howes did submit his name to be a candidate, but that the Nominating and Governance Committee reviewed his candidacy and did not certify him as eligible to stand for the election.

I contacted USA Team Handball CEO, Michael King and Lewis Howes via email with several questions regarding this matter. King did not address the questions and responded in part:

The questions you raise are requests for non-public information concerning an individual registered USA Team Handball member. USATH does not generally disclose such information to unrelated third parties absent a legitimate organizational or operational purpose or authorization for doing so.

At the time of this posting (Monday, 24 Aug, ~0730 US ET) Lewis Howes had not yet responded to my email.

(This is a developing story and will likely be updated as more information becomes available.)
