Performance Places: 9 Performance places were awarded to Continental Federations for each nation that placed 1st to 9th at the 2011 World Championships. Europe was awarded 7 places and Pan America (Brazil 5th) and Africa (Angola 8th) were awarded 1 each

European World Championships Qualification Group Play (October-December, 2012)
Nations which did not qualify for the 2012 European Championships will take part in Qualification Group Play. The winner of each group will advance to the European World Championship Playoffs in June 2012

16 Nations participated in the European Championship Finals. The top 2 placed teams (not counting Serbia and Norway) qualified for the 2013 World Championships. The remaining 12 nations will move on to the European WC playoffs.

Note: In September, 2012, the PATHF adopted a new regional qualification system. The PATHF nations have been divided into 3 regions and each region conducts a tournament for qualification to the Pan American Championships. The 3 regions and their available slots are:

Note: The scheduled qualification tournament was not held. Greenland, Cuba and Puerto Rico declined to participate leaving only 4 nations (Mexico, Canada, USA and the Dominican Republic). As, all four nations were guaranteed to qualify the tournament was cancelled.
