[u]Scheduling[/u]: Summer of even years: 2008, 2010, 2012, etc
[u]Age Requirements (Junior)[/u]: 20 years old and younger during the calendar year of the Championships. Example: For the 2010 World Champions athletes need to have a date of birth of 1990 or later.
[u]Age Requirements (Youth)[/u]: 18 years old and younger during the calendar year of the World Championships. Example: For the 2010 World Champions athletes need to have a date of birth of 1992 or later.

Continental qualifying events often have age requirements which will match the upcoming IHF event. For instance, Europe conducts their U19 and U17 Championships in the year prior to World Championships. In this way the teams that qualify for the World Championships in the following year match up with the U20 and U18 requirements.
